Mirijam Heiler

Miriam Heiler's artistic form of expression is based on refined, minimalist formulations that are characterised by a subtle layering of gestures, rituals and readings. Her paintings are allusions rather than narratives, they are colourful invitations to the viewer to engage with thoughts and feelings.
Using the method of reduction, Heiler removes everything superfluous from her paintings by dissolving the colour with plenty of turpentine. The delicate colour nuances convey lightness and freedom. Clarity also characterises the rhythmically drawn works. The only slightly varied repetitions have a meditative character and radiate a great deal of poetry and elegance precisely through this apparent simplicity. In her works, Heiler depicts a world of soft grids and nets that conceal a sky or delicately coloured backgrounds. In this way, she evokes the search for the unspoken, for what is hidden behind the image, behind the shell, behind the appearance.

Egon Digon

Egon Digon’s artistic vision is a bold and captivating journey into the world of geometric forms—forms which he masterfully deconstructs and reimagines. Working primarily with wood, he explores the vast potential of distortion, creating sculptural works that astonish and intrigue the viewer.
Through the deliberate manipulation of geometry, Digon transcends the rigid aesthetics of traditional forms, imbuing them with an unexpected softness and fluidity. His fascination with line, edge, and shape becomes the driving force behind his practice, enhancing the expressive power of structure in extraordinary ways.
Each meticulously carved piece is the result of immense craftsmanship, precision, and dedication. Upon closer inspection, his works reveal a dynamic interplay of forms—shifting between fullness and void, softness and solidity. The dissolution of geometry gives rise to powerful visual illusions that challenge perception and provoke curiosity.
Digon’s sculptures continually surprise at times disorienting, at times harmonious, they are always visually and conceptually engaging. By softening the inherent rigidity of wood, he creates flowing, sometimes biomorphic shapes that invite a fresh and compelling way of seeing.
As his work evolves, Digon embraces transformation as an essential part of his creative process. These shifts not only stimulate new ideas and directions, but also affirm his commitment to intentional, self-determined artistic growth—a continuous, vibrant reinvention.

Andrea M. Varesco

At the core of her painterly practice lies the exploration of the infinite surface of color – its material qualities, its nuances, and its various modes of appearance.
Her work focuses on the perception of color as an autonomous entity, emphasizing its sensual and material presence. Operating within a reduced formal language, her painting emerges directly from the substance of color itself, without reference to any external narrative or context. The act of painting becomes the subject: color, liberated from representational function, asserts its autonomy, condenses inwardly, and releases dynamic energies.
The result is a flow of forces and tensions that make painting tangible as a sensory experience. Yet, beyond pure perception, the works can also evoke positions or reflections on contemporary themes, shaped by the context in which they are created.
A further intention is to place the painted objects in a charged dialogue with the surrounding space – a relationship that heightens perception and opens new levels of meaning.

Josef Kostner

When engaging with the art of Josef Kostner, one seems to leaf through the pages of a secret diary, tracing the history of his inner world. His works are materialized emotions, feelings, and open-minded life experiences. The sculptures can unsettle our habitual ways of seeing; they challenge the very foundations of high culture, break with convention, and establish an aesthetic of diversity.
The critical examination of the prevailing and traditionally defined image of the human being forms the basis of his artistic practice. Josef Kostner responds to reality with an alternative perspective. His intention is to pursue otherness and a deliberate deviation from conventional notions of beauty. Strategies of defamiliarization, transgression, and the displacement of the real appear to him as suitable means of capturing the condition of the individual in the world. They reflect fundamental processes and relationships of human existence.
Thus, Josef Kostner’s artistic work stands as a homage to humanity, mirroring the diversity and expressive potential of the human condition.

Leo Ferdinando Demetz
