Stefan Gross, born in Bendorf Germany, apprenticed as a practitioner of stained glass manufacture. During his apprenticeship he was surrounded by coloured glass and learned to think in color. In 1988 he became a master of the practice and also concluded it by taking up studies of painting at art school HBK Saar, Saarbrücken. After his studies which he completed cum laude, he moved to the Netherlands. Here he lives and works, always seeking to develop new painting techniques. In ca. 2006 he developed a material of his own he now predominantly uses: "oil plastic". It results from dyeing an industrial plastic with classic oil paints. It is surface and paint in one and enables Stefan Gross to extend the painted surface three-dimensionally. "Oil plastic" is translucent and behaves, at a relatively low temperature, like glass. In his work, Stefan Gross depicts, in a colorful way, the fall of a society based on growth. "The world is a serious place these days. This is a problem I address in my work." He shows the beauty and potential of industrial production in a look back on the times in which we now live.

OLIVER CZARNETTA

After an education as a stonemason, Oliver Czarnetta (born 1966 in Dueren, Germany) studied history of art and philosophy. The work of about a hundred sculptures, created in the seven years from 2001-2008, consists mainly of human heads shown from the outside. Ultimately the perspective was not enough for Czarnetta, so since 2006 starting with his series SPEKTRUM he has been trying to look inside the heads as if they were Exposition. 
 
 

François du Plessis

1961 born in Zimbabwe, grew up in South Africa

1985 at the age of 24 years he left South Africa due to the apartheid politics

1985 - 1988 he travelled around Europe, Middle East and Turkey

1988 settled in Germany, where he works and lives (Aachen)

Toyin Loye studied Fine Art at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife. His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Nigeria, Senegal, Argentina, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, United Kingdom, Australia, United States, Germany, Spain, Norway, Belgium and the Netherlands. Toyin was commissioned by FIFA along with Andreas Gursky, Luo Brothers, Markus Lupetz and others to create the official Art Poster for the Germany 2006 World Cup. He lives and works in The Hague, The Netherlands.

Monika Radhoff-Troll's work is primarily specialized and focused on installations, objects and photography. She creates installations, as her artistic vision is influenced by political and ecological concerns. While not desiring to confront the viewer with horrific real life scenario, nevertheless she wants to disturb viewers and heighten their sensibility by building alienated, distorted situations, pseudoscientific assemblages and installations with recycled material. 

Monika studied art and textile design at RWTH Aachen / Fakultät VIII from 1978-83. Since 1987 she's working as an artist in Aachen. Work in public ownership are at Sparkasse Gelsenkirchen, Sparkasse Westmünsterland, Stadt Lohmar and Buxtehude, Kangaeru-Shirou kan Kawauchi mura, Fukushima, Japan, Geoje Haegeumgang Theme Museum, Yukyung Art Museum Geoje, South Korea and have been as a loan for four years at The Washington Post, Washington D.C., U.S.A.

Kerstin Vegelahn was born in 1965 in Hamburg, Germany.
After graduating in the Hamburg University of Applied Science she lived for 20 years in Paris, Barcelona, Manila and Hong Kong where she worked in Fashion Design. In 2002 she moved back to Spain and graduated with a Fine Arts degree from L’Escola superior d’Arts Aplicades y Oficis Artistics, La Llotja (Barcelona). In the Summer of 2005, she moved back to Hamburg where she currently works and lives.

Erika Koehler is artist and diplomat. As a master in international law she started her diplomatic career in the nineties and worked at several embassies of The Netherlands abroad. She also studied at the Art Academies of Moscow and Strasbourg and became an artist parallelly. In her recent work she addresses global issues like climate change and economic conflict: "Her series 'Relics of the fossil economy' is a new interpretation of the 7 Deadly Sins. We are all prone to these shadows. Not in the last place because of our currently dominant belief system; the fossil economy, is tempting at first, but turns out destructive, on closer inspection. Just like the art works. By calling them relics, they are referred to as something of the past, thereby engaging the viewer to co-create the present”
