Katherina Gierlach

The artist Katharina Gierlach (formerly Dietlinger, *1983) works with intense color impressions. Katharina Gierlach's art oscillates between painting and sculpture. Her paintings live from the impasto application of color and the play between representationalism and abstraction. Color plays the most important role in her works, often reaching plastically out of the work into space. This gives the impression that her works are bursting with life.

Konrad Winter

The works of Konrad Winter (*1963) are based on photographs. He collects these while traveling and in his daily environment. Starting from these views of often touristy places, he breaks down the motifs into color surfaces and color impressions. He then translates these into automotive paint on aluminum. Although he works with brush and paint, i.e. "classical" manual painting, the materials used appear smooth and industrial. In contrast, the color flickering and the light impressions of his motifs convey an almost impressionistic impression.

Peter Anton

American sculptor Peter Anton (*1963) is best known for his works depicting sweets. However, he is also responsible for a number of delicacies from the realm of the savory. He creates his oversized sculptures in his studio in Conneticut from various materials such as glue, wood and plaster. The hyper-realistic works invite the viewer to discover details: a bitten-off chocolate, a bubble in a fried egg, or dripping chocolate. His works celebrate the joy of eating with bright colors.

Günter Beier

Seed bag. Popcorn. Play dice. At first glance, these motifs have nothing in common. Through the gaze of artist Günter Beiers, however, they become a series of everyday objects whose coloring and arrangement make them main characters. Incidence of light and structure seem random, but result in unique perspectives.

Julian Opie

Clear contours. Flat colors. The style of Julian Opie, who is one of the most important contemporary British artists, is unmistakable. His works include paintings, but also sculptures, LED panels, videos and installations. He finds inspiration for his works in genres as diverse as that of 18th century Japanese woodblock prints and modern manga.

Petra Scheibe Teplitz

The Frankfurt artist Petra Scheibe Teplitz (*1953) uses found materials in her works, which she decouples from their previous use and whose aesthetics she adopts for her works. In doing so, she draws on everyday materials, some of which are not deemed worthy of storage - for example, packaging and plastic bags. Her works thus simultaneously become a museum of everyday things or everyday aesthetics.

Hein Spellmann

The works of Berlin-based artist Hein Spellmann (*1962) combine photography with object art. Clips of building facades on three-dimensional image bodies allow a concentrated view of facets, materials and structures of urban architecture. A tilted window, a suggested curtain or a glimpse of the interior break up the neutrality of photography and architecture.

Charlotte Trossbach

The basis for the works of the Cologne painter Charlotte Trossbach (*1985) are snapshots, which she transfers into the slow medium of painting. She finds her motifs in the everyday: Nail polish bottles, raindrops on the window or the clipping of a sports report. The realism of her works manifests itself especially in the reflections and light reflexes that Trossbach employs in all her works. The detailed realization allow the materiality of her motifs to emerge clearly and make them tangible. Her works have in common the effect of a still life paired with a like washed-out realism and bright colors.

Albrecht Wild

Shapes and patterns and the breaking up of these principles are the focus of the works of conceptual artist and painter Albrecht Wild (*1959). His "shaped canvases" play with basic shapes such as circles, which, taken apart and reassembled, produce forms that capture and guide the gaze - only to lead it into nothingness. This irritating and hypnotic effect occurs in both his minimalist and figurative works.
