Ernest "Cedi" Kankam

Ernest 'Cedi' Kankam, born in 1995 in Kumasi, Ghana, is an artist known for his exploration of the interplay between conscious and subconscious realms. Holding a B.A. and MFA in Fine Arts from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kankam's work has been showcased in solo and group exhibitions in Ghana and Germany. Notably, he participated in Documenta 15 with the blaxTARLINES collective, collaborated with Gudskul collective in Germany, featured in the BNN and SWR publication and was shortlisted for the BBA artist prize. Kankam's art, characterized by its intuitive and fluid process, spans painting, drawing, and digital media, creating immersive fictional spaces that prompt contemplation and reflection on everyday experiences through a subconscious lens.

André Kane

André Kane, a self-taught visual artist hailing from Burkina Faso and residing in Ouagadougou, embodies a reserved and modest demeanor. His artistic inspiration draws heavily from nature, with a distinct focus on celebrating African culture through his creations. In 2014, he embarked on a journey into vegetable paper craftmanship under the tutelage of renowned Italian painter Margherita Del Balzo, during a program hosted at the French Institute. Encouraged by Del Balzo and as a member of the Mopuku collective, Kane transitioned his artistic exploration to include working with vegetable fibers. Mastering the techniques of paper manipulation, his recent artistic endeavours showcase a fusion of pigment, earth, ochre and recycled materials. Kane actively engages in exhibitions and cultural showcases both within Burkina Faso and internationally, sharing his unique artistic perspective with diverse audiences.

Gershon Gidisu

Gershon Gidisu, born in 1994, is a Ghanaian artist and designer based in Accra and Kumasi. He is pursuing an MFA in Painting and Sculpture at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and has a background in shoemaking. His work focuses on the lifecycle and impact of materials used in everyday objects. Gidisu has assisted Bernard Akoi-Jackson from 2017 to 2021, participated in the OfKob residency in 2018, and organized a street art festival at KNUST. He has held a solo exhibition „HEAL“ and participated in various group exhibitions. His interest in exhibition design has led him to assist with several notable exhibitions, including those at SCCA Tamale and ADA Contemporary Art Gallery. In 2021, he collaborated on an innovative multi-site exhibition titled „Exposure.“

Dzidefo Amegatsey

Dzidefo Amegatsey grew up in Dzodze - Volta Region, Ghana. He is an artist who currently lives and works in Kumasi and Accra, Ghana. He recieved Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting & Sculpture) degree at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi in 2022. He is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Fine Arts at the same institution. He is a member of blaxTARLINES collective, Kumasi (a contemporary project space based in the Departement of Painting and Sculpture, KNUST). He was among the inaugural cohort of five artists invited by Amoako Boafo for an artist residency at dot.ateliers in Accra, Ghana in 2023. He is currently having art exchange in Karlsruhe, Germany. Working across installation, painting, drawing, photography and video, Amegatsey uses the idea of decay/decomposition in objects or materials as a starting point to explore other ideas like time, history, memory and the idea of the everyday using the town/city as a reference. His practice employs different image making techniques such as photo transfer, screen printing, collage among others.
