Salih Guler

Salih Guler’s art lives by the motto "less is more". The artist believes that beauty exists in detail and focuses on origin and forms in his art. Through his photography Salih tries to express his personal reality, by keeping very high standards in technical and aesthetic details and always including living things in his compositions. His photography is made of the least possible spots. Salih's minimalism gives even more power to the images he captures; the dramatic contrast and movement in his photography make the subject come alive and look as though it is flowing through light. The artist choses "beauty" to put forward in his artworks; he centres as the essence of life. Parallel to his minimalistic approach in photography, the photographer does not prefer to say a lot about his works. He believes that the photography itself should say and depict everything. His first personal exhibition was Dance of Light in 2004. Lately, his projects "Salt Lake" was presented in 2016. The photographer exhibited the project "Backstage"in 2017 and "Project 12" in 2018.

Tahir Ozgur

Ozgur’s photography is enhanced by his journalist background while he creates narrative works. He captures moments and expressions at the right time through his poetic style; in this way, he depicts the real stories of ordinary people in one single photograph rather than a film. His investigating approach brings the documentary character to his art and reminds us the difference between looking and seeing. Özgür mainly photographs people in Asia and depicts the stories of the “less visible,” by making the existing visible through the power of light. His photography “The Child“ was awarded grand prize by the Hamdan International Photography Award (HIPA). His photography story “Last Nomads: Migrating to a World of No Tomorrow“ was awarded the second-best prize in National Geographic International Photography Competition in 2008. 1964 born journalist & photographer Tahir Özgür has worked as columnist, editor, and executive director in prestigious media groups of the country for more than 30 years. Formerly photography was a work to complete his journalism, however lately it became his passion of life. He was entitled to Excellence FIAP (EFIAP) of (Fédération de Internationale deI’Art Photographique) in 2010. In International Photography Competition of Hahnemuhle, his photography “the mountain villages of Black Sea” was accepted to the collection of Hahnemuhle in 2011 and presented in exhibitions such as Photokina in 12 countries. Same year Özgür won Grand Prize in International Photography Awards of HIPA which was dedicated to Ansel Adams. Erdal Kinaci

1966 born Kinaci started his artistic career with painting when he was a teenager. During the years at medical university his interest was more in photography and set up the first photography club of the university. Kınacı has been presented his artworks in 13 solo exhibitions and several collective exhibitions.
Focusing mostly on people and nature, his photography captures compelling stories of life from the serious to the most humorous moments. The artist accepts the importance of the equipment, but he believes more in capturing right time on the right place with appropriate light. That is more essential and sufficient tool than equipment, he thinks. Kınacı does not consider rules in photography, on the contrary he thinks that photography changes its own rules rapidly with developments in technology and will continue to do so. He does not see the time he spends in the darkroom as a gain anymore.
The artist has been awarded more than 400 times in national and international photography competitions. His photography was awarded as world number 1 in human category at National Geographic International Photography Competition in 2006. The photographer has been invited as a jury member to several international competitions.
He resumes the connection between photography and himself, as: “I still have a big hunger to make better photography. I am becoming jealous when I see a good photography or meet a good photographer."

Marco Ronconi

1984 born Italian wild- life photographer Marco Ronconi has kept his passion for being in nature since his childhood. According to the artist, photography is a world of suggestions. It is more a process of exclusion than inclusion. It is to find and to use subtle power of empty spaces. He describes photography as an aesthetic act; it is more than a simple document. While his approach to wild-life photography is artistic and philosophic, the photographer narrates the absolute beauty of nature. His photographic vision focuses on capturing emotions by using light and natural elements like snow, ice and fog. The artist wants to depict pure beauty of landscape and unforeseen moments of wildlife while he keeps simplicity in his approach to his art.

About us

Gallery profile

Horatius said that a picture is a poem without words. These words were said before photography.  We believe that he would have said the same  for photography if photography had existed in those ages.

Painting is to convey dreams to canvas, creation of something through interpretations, that does not exist or exists. Photography, on the other hand, is only a photograph if you do not touch its reality. Photography is the reality itself. Photography is to convey what you see in the most real form.

The Route Photography Gallery, which was founded by journalist and photographer Tahir Ozgur, started its journey with this objective in Amsterdam in 2017. Our motive is not only to exhibit the photographs, it is also to depict and/or to narrate stories from all over the world.

Photography is what is conveyed to you from all over the world; It can be in a village of in a town which you have not known. It can be in shade of a tree. It can be in a portrait of a smiling child or in a portrait of a sad mother or in the dance of a young girl.

Our motive is to establish a meeting point for international photographers and emerging talents from different cultures who aim to narrate a story and/or a reality of life to art enthusiasts.

Our photography collection narrates stories from mountain villages of Vietnam, from exceptional mountains of Nepal, from fjords of Norway. It narrates culture of India, revolutions, and renewals in Europe, in Anatolia, in Mesopotamia… Story telling photography collection of the gallery depicts joy and pain on earth.

Photography, as of universal common language of art, conveys stories of life of some to others. The art enthusiast watching the artworks in our collection do not watch a photography work only,  they also read a poem, they listen to a story, they open the first page of a tale.
