Luca Freschi
Luca Freschi (Forlimpopoli 1982) graduated in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna, in these years of activity he has undertaken a research based on the otherness of the human figure, on the personal and collective memory through the use of the casting technique. He has participated in various group and solo exhibitions in Italy and Europe, among which we highlight in recent years: the 51st edition of the Campigna Prize, at the Contemporary Art Gallery Vero Stoppioni of S.Sofia (FC); Open 12, International Exhibition of Sculptures and Installations at the Island of S. Servolo in Venice in 2009; in 2011 he won the first edition of the OPERA / Fabbrica, at the Chiostri della Biblioteca Oriani of Ravenna. Among recent solo exhibitions include: in 2018 “Rust Never Sleeps”, Zeit Gallery Pietrasanta (LU), “Out of Memory”, Art & Space Gallery at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Munich, “Pop Up Store Momentum”, Art & Space Gallery at the Lungarno Collection Hotels Firenze, “Surgery”, Debaser Gallery, Pietrasanta (LU) 2017, “La pratica dellimperfetto”, niArt Gallery, Ravenna, 2015, “Volatili apparenze” National Etruscan Museum of Marzabotto (BO); “Lacrimae Rerum”, Galleria dellImmagine Rimini in 2014; “Simplify and Disobey”, Stefano Forni Gallery, Bologna in 2013. Among group exhibitions: “Italy Korea, Art & Culture - Acknowledging the Differences”, Sala della Tinazzara, Nantional Museum of Ravenna at 2018; “Dialoghi paralleli”, Lara e Rino Costa Gallery, Valenza (AL) and “La scultura è una cosa seria”, Bonioni Art Gallery, Reggio Emilia 2016; “Arte dal Vero” Gianni Isola Center Imola (BO); “Martyrium”, at M.E.A.M of Barcelona and the Biennale of sculpture Pobla de Segur, Lleida, Spain, 2014. In 2015 he was selected as a finalist in the 59th edition of the International Prize of Ceramics in Faenza and in 2017 was invited to Korea to the Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale and it is honorable mention in the 39th International Exhibition and Competition of Ceramic Art in the City of Gualdo Tadino, Perugia, Italy 2017. Freschi has won national awards and some of his works are part of Italian and Spanish public collections. He is currently collaborating with important italian and european galleries. Lives and works in the town of Meldola in Italy.
