Günther Förg
Günther Förg developed his pared-back conceptual practice as a reaction against the expressive figuration that dominated his native Germany in the 1970s. His works often united elements of sculpture, painting, printmaking, photography, and drawing, making meaning through juxtapositions of disparate media and minimalist, gridlike compositions. Fragmentation and Germanys political climate were major themes throughout his oeuvre.
